April Showers Bring May Flowers

Hello fellow gardeners,

Thanks to all those who came out to the April opening! We're officially in the thick of growing season right now; here are a couple updates for May.

WATERING

We're still getting a nice dose of regular rain, but as the days get hotter, it will become more important to visit the garden 2 - 3 times a week to water our young crops. In general, cooler, shadier times of the day (like morning or evening) are better for watering.

If you encounter a leaky hose or broken nozzle, please get in touch with me as soon as possible. Thanks!

COMPOST

There's still quite a bit of compost in the middle of the garden for you to make use of. Dig this into the top layer of your soil to add nutrients for your plants. We'll be moving any leftovers off site come next week, so get it while it's still there.

SHED COMBO LOCK

For those newcomers, the combination for the lock on the shed is 604. Please make sure to lock the shed when you're done using the buckets and shovels.

GARDEN TIPS: TOMATOES

Tomatoes are one of the funnest and most rewarding plants to grow, but anyone who's grown them knows that there are about a dozen tricks to getting great yields. You can nerd out on tomato tips for hours, but here are a few simple starting points:

And here is a Golden Globe-nominated epic that takes you through the crop's life from start to finish. Popcorn and a gardening movie, honey?
